New Affordable Housing in Evesham Township
MEND recently completed the construction and lease-up of our new 104-unit garden apartment complex on Sharp Road. This $20 million Low Income Housing Tax Credit development is a joint venture of MEND and Conifer Realty, LLC; and has been built in partnership with Evesham as part of that Township’s affordable housing growth-share obligation under the 3rd Round COAH regulations. Construction began in February 2008 and was completed by April 2009.
Scholarship Contest
As part of MEND's 40th Anniversary Celebrations, we sponsored an essay contest and invited all of Burlington County's 2009 high school graduating seniors to participate. The winners of the essay contest demonstrated that they understood the challenge that an increasing number of people face as they look for rental housing they can afford in times of economic distress and uncertainity.
Peter Balch, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of MEND congratulated the winners at a ceremony held at the MEND office in Moorestown: 1st Place - Kelsey Anne Holiday of Shawnee High School, 2nd Place - Kyle Mohen of Moorestown High School, 3rd Place - Darryl Jackson of Lenape High School.
